Purchasing a home is the single greatest investment that someone will make in their lifetime. Because of this fact, I think it is important to inform my clients on what the major cost items are in a home and what to look for when viewing a potential property. Often, buyers who work with an inexperienced realtor can find themselves purchasing a home that needs repairs not long after moving in. One of my goals as a realtor is to ensure that my clients are informed from start to finish. I have made a list of some major cost items in a home that should be looked at during the first showing or at latest during the inspection.
Major Cost Items
As your realtor, I am always working for you with your best interests at heart. While viewing properties I am always up front with my clients on the condition of the major aspects of the home. It is always better to try and catch these items early on before we go through the inspection process. I never want to put my clients in a situation where major repairs are needed right after purchasing if they are not aware of them. Due to my experience with viewing thousands of homes over the past 5 years, I am aware of the general cost of major repairs and I let my buyers know what that would be and whether it would make sense paying the list price or whether negotiating the price is what is needed.
I am experienced with first time buyers, buyers looking for second homes and buyers who have purchased multiple times. Whether you are wanting to start your home search now or in the future, please reach out to me to get the process started. I am here to help and make the process as stress free as possible.
